About Us

CrossFit 209 Sport is composed of dedicated trainers whom are firm believer in the foundations of CrossFit. The workouts are fun, challenging, always varied, and the results are dramatic. The support, encouragement, and camaraderie developed with CrossFit cannot be matched by any other.

We believe increased range of motion and uncompromised technique are the cornerstones to any fitness program. Each trainer is well trained and certified in CrossFit methods, and practices what they preach on a daily basis. Training at CrossFit 209 Sport will be like no other fitness program you have experienced.

CrossFit 209 Sport is a community of diverse individuals. We have lawyers, doctors, teachers, college, high school and middle school athletes. We have moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, MMA fighters, EMT’s and firefighters. Our clients do not differ in their demands but only in the degree. They all share the motivation, dedication, and desire to become healthier more functional human beings.

CrossFit 209 Sport was founded in Stockton, by Gabe Subry, Vince Carter & Marina Garcia on CA July 1st 2009. Gabe, Vince and Marina have been personal trainers for several years combined in both corporate gyms and private studios. Working with individuals of all ages and missions, they have helped many reach their fitness goals. In early 2008, they discovered CrossFit, the ultimate fitness program and instantly they were hooked. They discovered how CrossFit can be scaled to anybody’s level. CrossFit is the most effective fitness program for any individual, so Gabe, Vince and Marina decided to share this program with the Stockton community by opening Stockton’s first CrossFit. They are committed to building a community of highly skilled professional trainers and life long clientele.
CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a compliment to your sport-specific training regime.
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
